Caitlyn Mooney, MD, FAAP, CAQSM

Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician at University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio

Training: Dr. Mooney is originally from Pittsburgh, PA. She attended the University of Notre Dame followed by Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatrics residency at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC followed by her sports medicine fellowship in Cleveland, OH at Case Western University Hospitals.

Work: Following graduation, Dr. Mooney came to San Antonio, TX where she started a sports medicine program in the University Hospital system in fall 2019 she moved to the orthopaedics department at University of Texas Health Science Center. She is an assistant professor in orthopaedics and pediatrics. She has served as team physician from the youth through professional level.

Interests: Dr. Mooney’s interests include cycling and fitness. She also enjoys travel, camping, photography, and spending time with her dogs, Alex and Ruthie.
